Four books I read this spring

Four books I read this spring

Aloha from San Francisco!

Here are four books I've read over the past few months.

What's happening: I'm constantly looking to learn and level up.

Why it matters: I consider reading a vital component of my job as a startup CEO.

Here's the list:

    • Like, Comment, Subscribe: Inside YouTube's Chaotic Rise to World Domination by Mark Bergen. A fascinating read on the turbulent rise of YouTube. The book essentially reads as a series of never-ending crises, paired with exponential growth.
    • Smart Brevity by Jim VandeHei, Mike Allen, and Roy Schwartz. Loved this book. In fact, I'm writing this post using the Smart Brevity format :)
    • Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins. If you ever start feeling sorry for yourself, read this book. No excuses.
    • Adrift: America in 100 Charts by Scott Galloway. I've read all of Scott's books, this one was the least impressive. After his first book (The Four), there seems to be diminishing levels of effort and critical thought with each subsequent book. To be clear, I'm a fan of the Pivot podcast, which Scott hosts with the indomitable Kara Swisher.

The bottom line: Do you have a business book to recommend? Hit me up.
