Arianna Etemadieh July 12, 2018
Last May, we launched our first Paubox Customer Success Road Show, returning to the homeland of Hawaii to meet with customers and make new friends. While there, we visited the Caregiver Foundation and spoke with Gary Powell, Executive Director of the Caregiver Foundation.
Gary admitted to being a novice user with Office 365, so Paubox Founder CEO Hoala Greevy shared a helpful tip with Gary: You can send HIPAA compliant calendar invites in Office 365 using Paubox. You can read the transcript below and watch the full interview here.
Gary Powell: Microsoft Office 365 HIPAA compliant calendar invites through Paubox
Hoala Greevy: Now Gary, I was listening to a radio show earlier today and you mentioned your affinity for calendars, or in using calendars. Were you aware that using your underlying Office 365 email solution, which Paubox wraps around, that you can use it for HIPAA compliant email calendar invites? Do you guys use it in that way?
Gary Powell: No, you’ll have to tell me more.
Hoala Greevy: Yeah. So you can use your calendar invites – you can insert protected health information into the calendar invite, and when you invite someone outside of your organization, that email invite is actually delivered by Paubox so you can use your calendar as a HIPAA compliant calendaring service.
Gary Powell: That’s wonderful.
Hoala Greevy: We learned about it through talking to customers just like this and they were using it all on their own and they assumed everyone else was using it. I was like, “Ah, I don’t think so.”
Gary Powell: Well, we really like Office 365, but we’re very novice users.
Hoala Greevy: Yeah. Yeah there is no additional steps to do, you can just start using it in that manner.
Gary Powell: That's great.
Hoala Greevy: The calendar function actually triggers our email service to deliver the invites. Kind of neat.
Gary Powell: Yeah, well you’re way smarter than I am. Just make sure it works.
Hoala Greevy: Yeah, yeah. Great.
