We’re in full swing at ELEVATE PX 2025, and day one didn’t disappoint. This event is all about bringing together people who are passionate about improving the human experience in healthcare—and the conversations started strong.
What is ELEVATE PX?
ELEVATE PX is the go-to conference for professionals working to create more meaningful, compassionate, and personalized experiences in healthcare. From patient advocates to providers, everyone here is focused on how we can do better—together. The event is hosted by The Beryl Institute, and it’s a mix of networking, real-world storytelling, and hands-on learning from people who are making a difference.
Highlights from day one
Rethinking care transitions
Janet Rice from Northeast Georgia Health System and Stacy Sand from Get Well led a session on how technology can play a bigger role in long-term patient engagement. They explored practical ways to improve care transitions and shared how digital tools can extend support beyond discharge, making the patient experience more connected and proactive.
Real-time rounding for real results
This session focused on real-time service recovery, led by Cassandra Cisneros of Pennsylvania Hospital and Jordan Zeleneki of Penn Medicine shared how their teams improved HCAHPS outcomes by moving beyond traditional patient experience frameworks. Their on-the-ground approach to rounding has not only built trust with patients but also empowered staff to take action in the moment.
Listening, learning, and leading
Jennifer Baron from NRC Health and Courtney Johnson from UC San Diego Health closed the afternoon with a session on patient-centered innovation. Their focus? Building systems that truly listen to patients. From feedback loops to experience design, they offered strategies for turning insights into action and driving lasting cultural change.
Whether it was swapping ideas or sharing challenges, these gatherings reminded us why this work matters—and that we’re not doing it alone.
Looking ahead
We’re just getting started. Over the next couple of days, we’ll be diving into sessions on everything from leadership in experience design to creative uses of technology for more personalized care. One thing’s for sure: everyone here is committed to improving the experience—not just for patients, but for families, staff, and communities too.
