Paubox customers: Paubox Zoom social mixer (February 2025)

Paubox customers: Paubox Zoom social mixer (February 2025)

In the second Zoom social mixer of the year, we looked at how AI-backed anti-impersonation tools can save IT directors "hours of headache," use cases for Paubox Forms, and ideas to leverage Paubox Marketing for internal communication.

What happened

February's social mixer was an unmoderated discussion amongst healthcare IT professionals and marketers. We covered various topics, including AI, HIPAA compliant forms, and anti-spam and anti-phishing techniques.

With Paubox CEO Hoala Greevy on the call, we spent time on customer feedback regarding existing products and our 2025 roadmap. We even solicited names for an upcoming Paubox product.

Our takeaways:

  • ExecProtect isn't just for executives. Some folks use it for half their company.
  • Including the words AI in product names is becoming a negative branding convention.
  • LinkedIn is a vector for spammers and scammers.
  • Some Paubox customers worry that AI adoption could be moving too fast. Are healthcare organizations able to implement AI tools safely and keep PHI private?
    • It's better to allow users to opt into using AI rather than requiring them to opt-out.
  • Paubox customers impacted by the Los Angeles Fires have used Paubox Forms to help serve their patients.
  • Paubox Marketing customers would like to use HIPAA compliant email for internal communication.
  • In a survey Paubox recently did, we found that only 5% of phishing emails are reported to their security officers.
    • Training employees is the solution, and IT directors should make sure that staff they need to report concerns.
  • IT directors spend, on average, an hour a day on email security.
  • 180 breaches last year with email as the attack vector
    • Over 90% of healthcare cyberattacks are phishing attempts.
    • Microsoft 365 accounts for 43.3% of breaches, more than all others combined
    • Proofpoint, Barracuda, and Mimecast saw 27% of email breaches.
    • Most hacked organizations still don't have DKIM, SPF, and DMARC set up correctly.

The bottom line: Customers count on Paubox to help keep their emails HIPAA compliant and save time managing inbound email security challenges.
