The Paubox Kahikina Scholarship helps Native Hawaiian students pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and Tech in general. Its purpose is to offer financial support and create a strong network for these students. The scholarship makes education more affordable and connects students with professionals, giving them valuable opportunities to learn and grow in their chosen STEM or Tech fields. This scholarship is about more than just money; it's about building a community and empowering Native Hawaiian students to succeed in STEM or Tech careers.

As a 2021 scholarship recipient, Taysia Morioka has been studying chemical engineering at the University of Michigan. Here is an update from Taysia Morioka:
"Hello, my name is Tasia Morioka and I'm a Paubox Kahikina STEM scholarship recipient. I'm currently going into my junior year at the University of Michigan studying chemical engineering with a concentration in life sciences. And I have hopes of applying to medical school following my undergraduate degree, so a lot of the time I've spent this past year has been dedicated to taking advantage of my pre-health resources on campus, as well as my many research and networking opportunities that my school has to offer.
So it's just truly incredible being at a school that can provide so much opportunity to their students, and I really need to thank Paubox for supporting me in my educational journey, and Supporting my growth and allowing me to be on a campus and in a community that can provide so much for its students.
I've actually had the opportunity this past year to help found the Hawaii club alongside some other local students and it's been such an incredible experience increasing Hawaii's presence in Michigan of all places and it's really wonderful to see that grow and I hope to continue seeing it grow in the spirit of the award.
So I just wanted to thank Paubox and its team for all that they do for me and the rest of the Native Hawaiian students who received the award, congratulations to all of this year's awardees. I'm truly looking forward to seeing how everyone grows and thank you for all that you do for me. So mahalo and I'll see you soon."
