Katelyn Onzuka is one of the Paubox Kahikina Scholarship 2024 recipients and is now attending Hawaii Pacific University, studying toward a doctorate in physical therapy. Here is a word from Katelyn:
“Aloha, my name is Katelyn Onzuka and I am very proud to say that I am one of the 2024 Paubox Kahikina Scholarship recipients. Without scholarships like this supporting future Native Hawaiian endeavors, I would not be where I am at today. Recently, I graduated with my bachelor's in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science, and thankfully, with the support of Paubox, I am able to further my education even more as I will be attending Hawaii Pacific University this coming fall and I will be part of their Doctorate Program for Physical Therapy.
My whole mission into the career choice I have is simply to increase the representation of Native Hawaiians in the healthcare field. So I appreciate the support Paubox is providing me, and I think it is important to express my gratitude to the people who got me here today. So again, thank you so much Paubox, for simply believing in me, providing financial support, and more importantly, providing me a group of peer mentors I can look up to and even contact if I have any questions in the near future.
