Paubox renews, expands HITRUST CSF certification through 2023

San Francisco, CA, 13 April 2021—Paubox has just renewed its HITRUST CSF certification through January 2023.

Founded in 2007, HITRUST sets the global standard for safeguarding information by cross-referencing existing, globally recognized standards, regulations, and business requirements, including NIST, PCI, ISO, and the European Union's GDPR. Earning HITRUST CSF certification is the most credible way to establish that a service provider has strong regulatory compliance and risk management policies and procedures in place.

HITRUST for HIPAA is the compliance gold standard for the healthcare industry. In fact, more than 85 percent of U.S. health insurers, 80% of U.S. hospitals, and hundreds of other covered entities and business associates leverage the HITRUST Approach in their HIPAA compliance initiatives.

Paubox retains HITRUST certification

Paubox first achieved HITRUST certification in 2019, making us one of the first (if not the first) HIPAA compliant email providers to earn such status. “Our customers are trusting us to meet complex compliance requirements," Hoala Greevy, founder CEO of Paubox, said at the time. “We are very pleased to be able to demonstrate our commitment by achieving HITRUST CSF certification for our systems.” HITRUST certification applies to products, not companies.  Our initial HITRUST certification covered Paubox Email Suite Standard, Plus, and Premium, and Paubox Email API.  With this most recent renewal, our HITRUST certification also includes Paubox Marketing. In other words, all Paubox products are now HITRUST certified.

With this renewed and expanded HITRUST CST certification, Paubox customers can rest assured that their information—and that of their patients—is protected by both state-of-the-art technical controls (such as the very latest TLS encryption standards) as well as internal policies and procedures. Paubox customers can now cite and include the updated Paubox HITRUST certification letter in their compliance documentation. Even more notably, they can take advantage of the HITRUST Shared Responsibility and Inheritance Program, of which Paubox is now an official member.
