Paubox Secure Message Center explained

Paubox Secure Message Center explained

The Paubox Secure Message Center is a patented feature that provides 100% HIPAA compliant email.

What’s happening: If a recipient's email system does not provide adequate levels of transport layer security (TLS) encryption, Paubox securely detects and uploads the message to the Paubox Secure Message Center. This is done automatically.

Inadequate encryption can mean:

  • None at all. A considerable amount of email on the internet is being sent with no encryption at all.
  • Weak encryption protocol. only TLS 1.2 and 1.3 are considered secure. TLS 1.0 and 1.1 are not secure. The same is true with SSL v3 and SSL v2, which are predecessors to TLS.

Why it matters: This patented feature allows Paubox customers to enjoy 100% blanket encryption for all outbound emails.

By the numbers: According to the Google Transparency Report, anywhere from 8-22% of email on the internet is being sent without any form of encryption.

The intrigue: As the internet evolves, so does the Paubox Secure Message Center. As new security protocols become available and older ones decay, the Secure Message Center adapts.

The bottom line: The Paubox Secure Message Center is a central component of what our customers like to call, "sleep insurance."
