Paubox made a $1,000 donation yesterday to the Maui Strong Fund.
What's happening: Hurricane-driven wildfires devastated the island of Maui yesterday, razing much of the historic district of Lahaina. Three large fires are still active on Maui, including the blaze in Lahaina.

2. Ransomware attack affects 183 facilities across multiple states
Prospect Medical Holdings is facing a ransomware attack that disrupted operations in 17 hospitals and 166 outpatient clinics.
What they're saying: John Riggi of the AHA said, “These are threat-to-life crimes, which risk not only the safety of the patients within the hospital, but also risk the safety of the entire community."

3. LockBit targets Varian Medical Systems, threatens data leak
The notorious ransomware group, LockBit, declared its intentions to disclose the medical data of cancer patients following an attack on Varian Medical Systems, a firm that specializes in oncology applications.
The bottom line: The group stated that if Varian does not initiate negotiations to recover the stolen data by the given deadline, they will proceed with the data leak.

4. Zoom responds to privacy concerns amid updated terms of service
Zoom announced updated terms of service designed to train AI, but their new policy is raising privacy concerns.
What happened: Zoom is now planning to train its AI with “service-generated data” taken from meetings.
What they're saying: A spokesperson stated, “Zoom customers decide whether to enable generative AI features, and separately whether to share customer content with Zoom for product improvement purposes.”
