Presenting to the College of Engineering - University of Hawaiʻi
Hoala Greevy February 07, 2024
Last week I presented to the College of Engineering at the University of Hawaiʻi.
What's happening: As part of their Leadership Seminar Series, the College of Engineering at UH Mānoa asked me kick off the 2024 circuit.
What did I miss?: After introductions from Brennon Morioka, the Dean of the College of Engineering, and several student leaders, I stood up and presented 50 slides in less than an hour.
- Adjacent possible. Under Brennon Morioka's leadership, the College of Engineering is experiencing the adjacent possible.
- About me. My parents, brother, and wife. Hokulani, Washington, McKinley.
- How I got into software. It started by paying attention and making a phone call while at Portland State University.
- Pau Spam. It started with customer feedback and an all-nighter. Pau Spam was likely the first SaaS company in Hawaii (2003) and one of its first cloud software companies.
- Paubox. It also started with customer feedback and an all-nighter. I then segued into how we are becoming the market leader for HIPAA compliant communication.
- Paubox Kahikina Scholarship. The leader always gives back and our mission is to become the leader.
Where's the slides?: You can view them here.
The bigger picture: It was a professional privilege to present to the future engineers of Hawaii.
