Tony Cox, CIO for Henderson Behavioral Health, joined us at the Park MGM in Las Vegas yesterday during our quarterly planning meeting.
An early adopter of our HIPAA compliant email solution, Tony is part of our newly-formed Customer Advisory Board. He shared with us trends he sees in U.S. healthcare going into 2023.
Here are my takeaways:
- The top trend right now is telehealth. "If you're not getting into telehealth, you're missing the boat." Tony Cox
- Docusign is too expensive for many workflows in behavioral health
- "What else can do we that will save keystrokes?"
- No shows are a big problem in behavioral health
- With a large youth population, Henderson has gotten lots of requests for text reminders
- It's been a challenge to reduce no shows for younger population
- "Appointment reminders are a trend we have to get better at."
- "We're trying real hard to wean everybody from the telephone."
- Tony hasn't heard any notice on Notification of Enforcement Discretion ending
- 18-22% is the average for no show rates
- Secure texting can be used to improve no show rates
- No show meetings can run the gamut of costs
- Employee turnover is an ongoing concern in behavioral health
- "We're not here to make a dollar, we're here to save lives." Tony Cox
