Niko and Redox: Killing the Game
Upon entering the room, I immediately recognized Niko Skievaski, co-founder and President of Redox. Niko and his wife recently welcomed their first child to planet Earth and Redox closed their Series B round of financing in January. Killing the game!
After telling Niko I’m blogging my life, we snapped a selfie (hated doing that before 2017 btw). We next traded notes on our experiences at HIMSS Orlando back in February. It appears our respective social mixers had the biggest ROI for our companies.
New Connections: Sandeep & Renee
A few minutes after catching up with Niko, he introduced me to Sandeep Giri. We quickly began chatting about our HIPAA Compliant Email solution and how it could potentially help his clients. We also chatted about our new product, Paubox Suite Premium, which I am fired up about.
A few minutes later, I met Renee Godette of GE Healthcare. I snapped a pic of them and Renee’s friend (I didn’t get her business card). Shortly afterward, the event started.
Selfie with Mary Jo Potter
As fate would have it, I sat next to Mary Jo Potter, founder of Healthcare Angels. I first met her at a startup pitch event back in late 2015. I think Universe wants us to connect, as Steve Markowitz did a cold email inro to her on our behalf the next day (by coincidence).
Aubrey de Grey, Ph.D., Chief Science Officer, SENS Research Foundation
Here are some notable gems and quotes I got from Dr. de Grey:
- He forecasts people can someday live to 1,000 years.
- “Aging is a consequence of physics, not biology.”
- “Best of all, people are reinventing this approach and pretending it’s original.”
- “Breathing is fantastically bad for you but it’s rather non negotiable.”
