Here's an update from one of our 2021 recipients, Taysia Morioka. Taysia is attending the University of Michigan and is an active Paubox Kahikina STEM Scholarship recipient.
Taysia Morioka: Hello, my name is Taysia Morioka and I'm a Paubox Kahikina STEM scholarship recipient. I'm currently in my second year at the University of Michigan in the College of Engineering and I'm pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in chemical engineering with a concentration in life sciences.
I also have recently committed myself to the pre-med track, which will undoubtedly increase my time in school, making me even more grateful for the investment that Paubox is making in me and the contribution they're putting into financing my education.
It really is such an amazing thing that they're doing for so many native Hawaiians and their families. It's making it so much easier for students like myself to pursue our passions and our dreams to work in STEM and that really is so awesome. I thank Paubox for that and I ask if they just please keep doing what they're doing, and I just want to congratulate all the other recipients this year.
Thank you for everything, go Blue!
The primary objective of the Paubox Kahikina STEM Scholarship is to encourage Native Hawaiians to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
The scholarship is recurring in nature. In other words, recipients receive $1,000 per year until they graduate.
