Staying up to date in the twenty-first century means taking advantage of electronic communication technology. Although Alvord-Taylor had never been breached, the organization needed to ensure that it was only sending HIPAA compliant email.
“We knew that using fax and snail mail wasn’t going to be a functional, long-term solution, but we understood that expecting perfection from software wasn’t going to be reasonable or effective for our organization. Paubox offers seamless security for outgoing emails that takes away the headache,” said Emily Fagan, Quality Assurance Specialist, Alvord-Taylor.
Alvord-Taylor chose Paubox Email Suite as its secure email solution because it was simple, easy, and effective. There is no guessing – every email is encrypted. Email senders don’t need to remember to include certain words in the subject line or deal with clunky, password-protected portals. In addition, Paubox Email Suite is HITRUST certified, which is the gold standard of security.
The Alvord-Taylor team also appreciated working with the helpful sales team, who was responsive throughout the onboarding and implementation process. “It was a no-brainer for us,” Fagan explained.
“We did a lot of research, and we found that Paubox was the most user-friendly option,” said Sarah Jones, Manager, Quality Assurance, Alvord-Taylor. “In addition to passwords, other solutions also rely on the judgment of staff to decide what emails to encrypt and which ones not to encrypt, and we don’t have to worry about that at all.”
Human error is the most common cause of security breaches, so removing the human element gives Alvord-Taylor’s staff confidence that they are appropriately securing the protected health information (PHI) of the people they support.
Using Paubox Email Suite has streamlined the workflow at Alvord-Taylor. “People are spending a lot less time standing by the fax machine, sending things multiple times before they actually go through. It’s improving the quality of life for employees while they’re working, and it’s saving a lot of time,” Jones noted.
In the past year, Paubox Email Suite has secured more than 1.25 million emails on behalf of 205 employees.
