1. Ransomware gang steals PHI of 1 million patients
Up to 1 million patients were affected when hackers exploited a zero-day vulnerability in Community Health Systems’ file-transfer software.
Why it matters: Community Health Systems (CHS), one of the largest healthcare providers in the United States, confirmed the zero-day attack within GoAnywhere MFT – the file-transfer software of one of CHS’ business associates, Fortra.
The Russia-linked ransomware group Clop took credit for the attack and claims that the GoAnywhere vulnerability helped them steal data from more than 130 organizations.

3. Does Google punish AI content?
On February 8th, Google announced they would not punish AI-generated content.
Why it matters: With the recent release of ChatGPT, people are wondering if they can use it to publish content on the web without getting negatively affected by Google.
Google’s advice? AI-generated content should be original, high-quality, and people-first.
4. Hoala’s iPhone security tips (2023)
Last week the Wall Street Journal wrote about how thieves are exploiting weak iPhone passcodes.
Why it matters: By observing users type in their passcodes in public places, thieves steal the iPhone and loot the victim’s bank account(s). Thieves quickly lock victims out of their Apple accounts, which prevents the phone from being deactivated.

5. What is geofencing and when is it effective?
Geofencing filters out geographic threats before getting near your inboxes.
Why it matters: Customers that included all countries fenced anywhere from 300 to 4000 emails per month. On average, those customers quarantined 28 emails a day!
